Anita lingerie has quite a history beginning in Dresden in 1886. In the early years, they produced heavy elastic, body belts and braces. Men and women were rather heavyset back then, which meant these early shapewear items were highly sought after! The company suffered a turbulent time during the middle of last century. Their production sites were completely destroyed in the bombings of WWII but against all odds, they fought to keep going. In the 1970s Dr Christine Weber-Unger joined the team. She was an intelligent woman with a head for business and a keen eye for spotting "new and promising niches". She identified gaps in the market for nursing bras, underwear and swimwear for pregnant women and special garments to support women who had undergone breast surgery. Now Anita operates on a worldwide scale, striving to create perfectly fitting bras for women.
